This handcrafted model tree represents a naturally grown summer apple tree with a broad, rounded crown in full leaf. The rich green foliage gives the impression of a well-tended orchard tree and is ideal for designing gardens, orchards and tree rows along country roads and village streets on your model railway layout or diorama.
The cultivated apple tree (Malus domestica), prototype for this model, is a deciduous fruit tree that arose from hybrids of wild apples and is now grown in almost all temperate regions of the world. In Europe it shapes traditional orchards and modern fruit plantations, where trees depending on variety and training system usually reach heights of about 5 to 10, in old high-stem orchards up to around 15 metres.
