This handcrafted model tree represents a naturally grown summer cherry tree with a high trunk and a broad, rounded crown in full leaf. The dense, rich green foliage with a suggested fruit set makes this tree ideal for designing small gardens, orchards and tree rows along country roads and village streets on your model railway layout or diorama.
The wild or sweet cherry (Prunus avium), which serves as the prototype for this model, is native to large parts of Europe and occurs naturally from the Mediterranean region up to southern Scandinavia. Through planting and naturalisation it is also found in suitable regions of North Africa, western Asia and eastern North America. In cultivation, depending on site, variety and training system, trees typically reach heights of about 15 to 20 metres.
