This handcrafted model tree represents a naturally grown summer pear tree with a tall trunk and a broad, rounded crown in full leaf. The rich green foliage and suggested fruit set make this tree ideal for designing small gardens, orchards and tree rows along country roads and village streets on your model railway layout or diorama.
The cultivated pear (Pyrus communis), prototype for this model, originated from crosses of wild forms and prefers rather warm, dry sites. It is widely grown in suitable climate zones of Europe and western Asia. In cultivation, depending on variety, rootstock and training system, trees usually reach heights of about 3 to 20 metres. Choose the model height that matches your scale or follow our recommendation for your model railway gauge to recreate characteristic summer pear trees in miniature.
