This handcrafted pine with a branched trunk brings the characteristic evergreen needle crown of the Scots pine to your model landscape all year round. The irregular, strongly branched trunk with several crown levels and free-standing branch sections gives the tree a vivid, three-dimensional appearance. Use this model as a striking solitaire, in small groups or as an eye-catcher in light pine and mixed forests on your model railway layout or diorama.
The Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), prototype for this model, is widespread across much of Europe and far into Siberia and prefers nutrient-poor, often sandy soils. In Germany its natural share of the forest stands is relatively small; the large areas covered by pine today are mainly the result of forestry plantations. Under favourable site conditions the species can reach heights of around 45–48 metres in nature. Choose the model height that matches your scale or follow our recommendation for your model railway gauge to create typical pine plantations and open woodlands.
