This handcrafted copper beech in summer brings deep red foliage colours to your model landscape. The densely foliated crown reaches almost to the ground and recalls a mature park or garden tree. Use this model tree as a striking solitary feature, in small groups or in combination with green beeches and other deciduous trees to create vivid contrasts on your layout.
The copper beech is a cultivated form of the European beech Fagus sylvatica. Its most striking characteristic is the dark red to purple colour of the leaves. Across Europe it is widespread and in forests mature specimens can reach heights of 30 to 40 m. As a solitary tree in parks and gardens it usually remains noticeably lower. In nature the copper beech shows hardly any seasonal colour differences; from leaf emergence to the first frost the foliage remains largely the same. Because the materials used in model making do not allow the leaf colour to change realistically, we offer this beech variant only in a summer version.
