The foliage mat with oak foliage from miniNatur® is a realistic material for greening self-built model trees in small scales from 1:160 to 1:220. Fresh medium to deep summer greens with slightly warm, yellowish highlights capture the broad, irregular crowns of oak trees and are ideal for solitary trees, avenues, forest edges and mixed deciduous woodland.
At scales between 1:160 and 1:220, individual oak leaves can no longer be reproduced. The very fine foliage structure of the mat instead suggests dense, slightly translucent canopies that still appear detailed at normal viewing distances on N, TT and Z gauge layouts. Applied in thin, torn layers, you can build both light, airy crowns and darker background trees that give depth and variety to the scene.
