This handcrafted forest birch tree in spring shows a crown with around 60 % fresh foliage. On the remaining parts of the trunk, dead branches and branch remains are clearly visible – just as on older birch stands at the forest edge or in light mixed woodland at the beginning of the growing season. Several of these model trees allow you to create natural-looking birch woods; combined with oaks and beeches they form atmospheric deciduous mixed forests in your model landscape.
The silver birch (Betula pendula), which serves as the prototype for this model, is widespread across large parts of Europe (except northern Scandinavia), North America and Asia. It thrives on relatively nutrient-poor soils and is considered an important pioneer species. In nature it usually reaches heights between 15 and 25 metres, occasionally up to 30 metres. Choose the size that matches your modelling scale or follow our recommendation by model railway gauge and you will receive an exclusive model tree that blends harmoniously into your model landscape.
