A single birch in spring, which is about 60% leafy. The remaining trunk is provided with dead branches and their remains. With this article you can create natural looking birch forests in your model landscape or together with oaks and beeches, harmonious mixed deciduous forests.
The birch, also known as the common birch, the sand birch, the white birch or the warthog (Betula pendula), which served as a model for this kind of tree, is predominantly found in Europe (except Northern Scandinavia), North America and Asia. It grows mostly on low-nutrient soils, it is considered as the most important pioneer plant. In nature, it reaches a height of 15 to 25 meters (max. 30 meters). Choose the right size for your model scale or follow our recommendation according to the nominal size of your model railway.
