Fine Model Railway Ballast Phonolite up to 0.25 mm (Dust) for Z Gauge & Paths (200 g)

Fine model railway ballast made of natural stone (Phonolite) with a grain size of up to 0.25 mm (dust). This very fine grade is especially suitable for Z gauge, path surfaces, and sandy or very fine track beds on layouts and dioramas.

The ballast dust can be used for paths, service areas, transitions and trackside edges. Depending on the prototype, it can also recreate sandy ballast beds or very fine maintenance conditions.

Supplied in a bag containing 200 g. Additional, coarser grain sizes for larger gauges and classic ballast beds are available in the range.

Processing tip:
After application, distribute the fine ballast dust evenly and shape it with a soft brush. Then fix it with a suitable ballast or scenery adhesive and allow it to dry completely.

For a clean result, we recommend a ballast adhesive that dries transparent so the natural color appearance of the material is preserved.

Tip: Combined with coarser grades, this fine material helps create realistic transitions, weathered edges and natural color gradients.
