The foliage mat with poplar foliage from miniNatur® is a very fine material for greening self-built model trees in small scales from 1:160 to 1:220. Light to medium, slightly bluish summer greens capture the fresh, shimmering colour of poplar foliage and are ideal for tall, slender rows of trees along railway lines, fields and rivers.
At small scales between 1:160 and 1:220, individual poplar leaves can no longer be reproduced. The extremely fine foliage structure of the mat instead suggests dense, slightly translucent crowns that still appear detailed at normal viewing distances on N, TT and Z layouts. Applied in thin, torn layers, you can create both light, wind-shaped solitary poplars and denser background groves that add depth and variety to the scene.
