This handcrafted Lombardy poplar in spring brings its slender, columnar form and fresh green foliage to your model landscape. The dense canopy reaches almost down to the ground and reproduces the characteristic narrow pyramidal crown. Use this model tree as a striking solitary feature, in short rows lining roads and paths or in small groups to recreate typical avenues and village scenes on your layout.
The Lombardy poplar (Populus nigra ‘Italica’), also known as pyramidal or columnar black poplar, served as the prototype for this model. It is widely planted throughout Europe, especially as an avenue and roadside tree. In nature it reaches heights of about 25 to 30 metres, and in exceptional cases up to around 40 metres. Choose the model size that matches your scale, or follow our recommendation based on your model railway gauge, and you will receive an exclusive model tree that blends harmoniously into your model landscape. The spring version shows the tree with fresh young foliage and is particularly suitable for layouts set at the beginning of the vegetation period.
